“The only person who can pull me down is myself, and I’m not going to let myself pull me down anymore.” ~C. JoyBell C.
Trust yourself and know that your body is never wrong. It is perfect and when you experience cravings or desires listen to them. Know that these cravings are your body’s way of telling you something. If you are craving that brownie, your body is trying to tell you something. Maybe it’s saying, “I’ve had a stressful day! I need that brownie to relax.” or “We’ve been sooo good. We need to rebel and indulge!” Whatever it is, try to analyze your feelings around this food. It may be that you just really want it. And that is ok. Your body is smart and will balance out in other places. Allow yourself to let go of guilt.
The key is to listen. Listen to your thoughts around food. Trust yourself and try to let go of self doubt. Know that if you listen to your body, you will start choosing healthy foods. Ultimately, the body knows how to be healthy and how to thrive. It will not lead you astray.
But maybe you’ve spent years not listening to your body. In fact, it feels like the enemy and there is no way you can trust it. I am telling you now, the only way to heal is through self trust and love. You have to accept that nourishing yourself with the love you and your body deserve is essential.
Move through the fear and make the commitment to choose self love. The more you do it, the easier it will become.
